After arriving at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus we had a bad experience. A grey-bearded man wearing a turban - I assumed he was someone’s grandfather meeting a family member off the train - advised us not to go with the porter who had offered to help us with our cases. The man in the turban said he’d help us get to our hotel and called over 2 younger men who escorted us to a waiting taxi. When my husband asked what the fare to the hotel would be one of the men said all taxis in Mumbai are metered. When we reached the hotel the taxi driver drove into a side street and demanded Rs5,000. We asked to see the meter which showed Rs3000. We knew from our research that the fare ought to be around Rs600 for the distance we’d travelled.
We argued and the tone which up to then had been friendly turned menacing. We were told to pay what the meter said. Reluctantly my husband counted out out 6 x Rs500 notes and handed them to the driver. Next thing the driver told my husband he’d paid the wrong banknotes and showed us 4 x Rs20 notes in his hand. Now my husband had only had 10 x Rs500 in his wallet, so we knew the driver was lying. Anyway, to cut this long story short, we grabbed our bags and just moved off quickly to the hotel entrance.
I have taken the trouble to write of our experience because I believe other travellers arriving at LTT need be warned to avoid these shady characters.

We attended the Kala Ghoda Art Festival that was held from the 20th to 28th Jan2024. in Mumbai . It is an amazing festival that encompases all forms of art ......being cinema; poetry readings; crafts ;fine art ; classical indian dance forms ; great museums; walking tours of colonial buildings; street food tours and much more. The highlight for us was the nightly free live music concerts at an open air venue under perfect evening weather of Mumbai. These were all in the central Kala Ghoda area . The myriad of new age boutique eateries were a treat !
It is also very easy to get around these places using the popular local cabs or Uber .
Again, this hotel belongs to the Tata group and the Taj Hotels group. A very professional group and well experienced in the hospitality industry.
We were up-graded to the old tower ( a tower which was built in 1903 ), thanks to the Booking.com's genius loyalty program.
I would say this hotel is one of the best hotels in Mumbai, a luxury hotel well managed. All the staff were well trained, the breakfast was lovely and the stay was very comfortable.
Thanks to Tata Group
Very nice staff who does everything possible to help you enjoy your stay in Mumbai. Very good price. Location near airport T2. Recommended for lay over or even for leaving your luggage for a day and taking a shower in the evening. The hotel is also very close to a metro station from where you can easily reach the south of Mumbai by metro + local train (a new metro line should be built that will connect the metro station directly to south Mumbai, making it even easier).
The location is quite, for someone with sleeping problem, if the hotel at the crowded place, it will be a problem for me. But i can sleep well during my stay in Arnna Hotel. Its not far from train station and also near airport. The staff is really helpfull and nice. The staff who welcoming us (Rahit) when we arrive almost midnight is really helpfull. Another one is Shariq who also give us information about place to visit. Its makes our stay in Mumbai is fun.
We were only in the hotel for a few hours having missed our flight. The room was excellent but the best part of our stay was the breakfast. Probably the best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel. In particular Kaif in the restaurant went out of his way to make the breakfast experience exceptional, I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning to stay near to Mumbai International Airport.
Spacious and large rooms, that are done up to a high standard. Definitely one of the best airport hotels I’ve stayed at. Special shout out to the reception team, who understood my jet lag and accommodated a late check out accordingly. Will highly recommend as it is the best you can get in Mumbai for such a reasonable price point.
kind and friendly staff. received me with a happy smile right from the moment I arrived. Room was small
but clean and organised. Location is super good. so well connected.
It’s not a big, 5 star hotel after all, but you could see they did their best to keep the room clean and presentable. Very hardworking, dedicated staff.
A must visit Hotel in 5 Star Category. Hotel is beautiful and very well maintained place. Staff are nice and polite specially want to thank from reception staff Omkar and restaurant team Kunal, Swatik. Hotel is well connected to Mumbai International Airport. Lot of things we can explore there.
Location is prime Mumbai city to all cafeteria, monuments and 5 star hotels like Taj Heritage, Gateway of India.
Colaba market is just step down and variety of purchasing is available for shopping.
All worldwide outlets like McDonald's, Pizza Express, are available near by the hotels.
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in India. close to US consulate. easy access from Airport. Awesome ambience and spacious rooms. my kids liked the hotel. very good staff and quality service.
The Amber is undoubtedly the best in hospitality, Absolutely I will give 5 star to this place, Nice to place to visit with your family. Due to this you will also able to know what is Mumbai darshan.
The best thing about the hotel that it's location. it's quite close to the Airport so you won't stuck into Mumbai traffic and won't miss your flight.
Second it's breakfast was amazing.
Worst ever hotel, especially the staff, their managers Hitesh Oza , Viraj Singh, as a 5 star hotel very cheap behaviours, utter non sense the way they handled the issues
Very close to Mumbai Airport. The hotel is functional and basic. It is good for a short transit stay if you are passing by Mumbai. Very cheap and good value for money.
the showers is not clean
the shower is not very good working and water can spells over easily
5 stars hotel has no special car
cleaning the room may be delayed
